How COVID-19 Spreads

Since my first comic on “How Coronaviruses Spread” has gone viral globally, I’ve gotten a lot of feedback from readers on the comic. Many things have also changed since then, and new advisories have been given by various national health organisations as well as WHO and CDC.

Here is an updated and extended version of the comic, vetted by Dr. @yewfong_pam, that includes new precautions such as mask wearing, staying at home, and information on people with COVID-19 who do not show any symptoms.

I hope this will give readers a more complete understanding of the virus that causes COVID-19, as compared to the first comic, which was created as a personal project and posted when I had only 100 followers on Instagram, who were mostly my friends. I’ve had parents and teachers tell me that after reading my first comic to kids as a storybook, kids have started washing their hands and delightedly singing happy birthday. I hope this updated version will be as useful to parents and well as to the general public.

To accommodate readers with darker skin tones, I’ve also created a version of this comic with darker skin tones for most of the characters, which you can download for free. To help translate, head here.
